$25,000 Grandparent Giving Challenge Underway (Goal Exceeded!)

PDS grandparents were on campus in June for the Grandparent Brunch, held to acknowledge and celebrate the special role that they play in the Charger community. Following the brunch, the group toured the new DeMayo Gateway Center and Academic Center.

Current grandparent Cynthia Heath has also helped move the campaign closer to the $27 million goal with her $25,000 Grandparent Giving Challenge. The initiative, in effect until December 31, gives grandparents an opportunity to signal their support of Providence Day by making a gift to the Annual Fund.

“We are so proud to be part of the PDS grandparent community and its tradition of generous philanthropic support,” commented Bill Swayne and Elaine Largen, Annual Fund Alumni Parent and Grandparent Co-Chairs. “We especially thank Cynthia for offering this fabulous opportunity to increase the impact of our gifts in support for PD and our grandchildren.”

Cynthia is the mother of Heather Heath Ryan, the 2016–17 and 2017–18 Annual Fund Chair. Cynthia is also grandmother to current students David ’25, Braden ’25, and Henry ’29.

The $27 million CHARGING forward comprehensive campaign will officially conclude on December 31, 2018. The campaign has three investment priorities: capital, endowment, and Annual Fund. The final campaign total will be announced in early January 2019.
